Description
SCAN provides a continuum of programs and services to families in northeast Indiana that prevent child abuse and neglect from occurring or reoccurring. These programs include free Prevention Through Education workshops for children ages 3-18 and adults; Healthy Families program for parents of newborns; family restoration and crisis intervention services for families where child abuse and neglect has occurred; emergency respite care for children whose families are in crisis; and short-term, home-based services to any family where there is a risk of abuse or neglect occurring.
The organization's mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect through direct service, coordination, education and advocacy.
Last fiscal year, SCAN touched the lives of more than 34,000 children and adults. We are proud to say that 96 cents of every dollar raised goes to programs and services; just 4 cents goes to administrative/fundraising.
