Description
SaveKitty Foundation is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization that helps New York City's homeless and abandoned animals through rescue, adoption and Trap-Neuter-Return, or TNR.
TNR involves humanely trapping a cat, getting it spayed or neutered, and then returning it back to its colony, while providing food and bad-weather shelter for the cats. TNR is considered by experts in the field, and by us, to be the most humane solution to the homeless cat problem.
We have performed TNR on thousands of homeless cats, significantly reducing their numbers and their suffering.
In the process of doing TNR, we come across many friendly cats and kittens. We take them into foster care and find loving homes for them.
We also provide TNR education and pet bereavement support.
