Description
Save The River is a non-profit, member-based environmental advocacy group. Our mission is to protect the ecological integrity of the Upper St. Lawrence River, including the Thousand Islands Region, through advocacy, education and research.
For nearly thirty years, Save The River has been a strong citizen voice for the River. Save The River's programs include
* Extensive work to halt Seaway expansion, oppose winter navigation and improve spill response resources on the River;
* Volunteer water quality monitoring at more than 20 sites along the River;
* Muskie catch and release program that has resulted in more than 1,000 muskies returned to the River since the program’s inception; and,
* Education programs reaching hundreds of area citizens and students.
