Description
SOLO was founded by Mr. Larry Mckenna and was approved as a 501(C) (3) non profit organization in late 2005. SOLO is dedicated to the preservation of Leatherback Turltes.
Our main focus is to improve the Leatherback Turtle hatch-out rates in a remote area of Indonesia. Activities include data gathering and analysis, turtle identification, education of local tribes, and improving/protecting the nesting grounds.
We also provide educational presentations which discuss our activities at the turtle nesting grounds, the effects of global warming and long-line fishing, and detailed information on Leatherback Turtles.
