Description
The Savanna Historical Society is renovating an old 1890's building into a new museum and community center. The museum will house a large collection of Civil War mannequins from a local history teacher and a major railroad exhibit that includes a 1000 sq ft handmade model of Savanna in its railroad hayday.The project will spearhead economic development in Savanna, Illinois. This Mississippi River city grew distressed as jobs left after the Savanna Army Depot was closed in 1995.
