Description

The Sarasota Youth Sailing Program, Inc.(YSP) is a non-profit educational organization established to encourage youth sailors to experience the joy of sailing and to teach the essential elements of boat handling, seamanship, water safety skills and racing in a safe and fun environment.YSP promotes ethical behavior, encourages the teaching of life-long lessons which seek to build character, foster teamwork, and strengthen respect for self, others and the marine environment.
Sailors must be 5 by June 1, 2011 for the Tadpoles program. Sailors must be 8 June 1, 2011 for the main program. Sailors continue to be eligible to participate in the junior program through December 31st of the year they turn 18. All children are required to pass a swim test on the first day of class. Students must be able to swim 25 yards wearing the clothes they will be sailing in, including a lifejacket and shoes.
FINANCIAL AID: Scholarships are available for those families who may need financial assistance.
