Description
Santa Barbara Partners in Education's mission is to connect businesses, organizations, and individuals with schools, students, and the programs that serve them in order to improve public education in ways that support a more vibrant economy, the health of our community, and the well-being of local children and their families. Formed in 1977, Partners has grown into a vibrant nonprofit 501(c)3 organization and is administered with the strong support of the Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO). Partners leads programs to further its mission, including Computers for Families, a major Volunteer Recruitment and Coordination Program, and a Student Internship & Job Preparation Program. Additionally, because Partners' programs are housed at the SBCEO Center for Community Education, Partners is able to directly link with major countywide programs administered by the Center including the AmeriCorps Literacy Tutoring Program and Transitional Youth Services for Homeless and Foster Youth.
