Description
We are a non-profit 501c organization. We have a baseball team made up of college age student-athletes (Foresters) from across the country. The Hugs for Cubs program is about spending time, reaching out, and raising money for children who have cancer. The program is the idea of Eric Pintard, a good friend and the son of our general manager. Eric was inflicted with terminal cancer in his early 20's, lived another 7 years, and was an inspiration to thousands of people. Instead of focusing on himself, Eric decided to create a program for youngsters who have been stricken with cancer. We sponsor different childhood cancer survivors each year, take kids and their families to ball games, we have bowling nights, surf days, and our players do hospital visits to children's cancer centers. Any money we can raise here will afford us greater resources and activities for these children.
