Description
Sanctuary, Incorporated was founded in 1971 as an alternative to the juvenile justice system for runaway, homeless and otherwise disadvantaged youth with the mission to "Helping Youth and Families Help Themselves". Hundreds of teens take refuge in Sanctuary’s shelters every year and over 3,000 youth and 1,000 adults are assisted through our outreach and prevention programs and groups. In July 2008, the organization received full accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), the only human services organization with the distinction in our region; and thereafter in July 2011 was reaccredited for three more years, to provide quality services to youth and families in need. Sanctuary is the home away from home for runaway, homeless, abused and neglected youth.
