San Diego Environmental Foundation's EcoCenter for Alternative Fuel Education offers a standards based program to all San Diego County schools. We teach 4th-8th graders about alternative fuels and alternative fuel vehicles and how they relate to clean air and clean energy. Through technology, chemistry, mathematics, and sociology, we enable school children to take actions to clean the air and environment, and empower to make decisions to improve the environmental future of their community.
The EcoCenter for Alternative Fuel Education hands-on, inquiry based program prepares students for their future as scientists and educated consumers of energy resources. We are moving students toward the realization of an energy economy. We are the only center in the country that educates students about alternative fuels and how they relate to clean air, clean energy, and energy independence. Our plans include explanding to open locations across the country over the next ten years.
