Mission Statement: the San Diego Dance Theater exists 1. To create and perform intelligent dances that inspire the people of our region and beyond and, 2. To provide access to the viewing, training in, and dancing of these dances by diverse audiences and dancers.
Organizational Overview: We produce at least three public programs annually: 1. “Trolley Dances”, our site-specific collaboration with San Diego’s public transit system (MTS), 2. “Cabaret Dances”, now in its eighth season, features light fare in an informal setting; and 3. “Voices of San Diego Dance Theater”, annually at San Diego State University’s Don Powell Theater, our concert/ proscenium repertory program. Additional activities include: 1. train and educate dancers in our school. 2. Workshops for pre-professional and professional dancers with Isaacs and invited guest teachers, choreographers, and related artists. 3. On-going cross-border projects 4. Commissioning work from other choreographers.
