Samaritan House is a non-profit organization that provides programs for victims of domestic violence and homeless families. Samaritan House is committed to fostering personal safety, self-sufficiency and personal growth in adults and their children through freedom from domestic abuse and homelessness.
While Samaritan House’s shelters and transitional housing are located in Virginia Beach, it houses over 120 people from all parts of South Hampton Roads each night, and sadly 60-70% are children.
We annually answer about 7,500 crisis line calls. Samaritan House provides a wide range of programs to its clients, including a 24/7 crisis hotline, case management during and after shelter,
counseling and support groups, children’s advocacy and counseling, referral for legal services and victim advocacy, employment readiness,
community-based education/prevention, and
