Description
The Saline County Literacy Council (SCLC) is a Community-based, non-profit educational organization providing literacy needs for our community. Tutor certified volunteers teach Adult Basic Education (ABE) to individual’s needing help in reading, writing, and math instruction, and to English as a Second Language (ESL) student’s needing help in learning English. Learning English helps immigrants adapt to a new culture. By providing these services, it will enable individuals to obtain educational levels necessary for employment, job sustainment and promotion, citizenship, to earn a GED or enter Postsecondary education, and other personal achievements.
