Safer Alternative For Enjoyable Recreation (SAFER) is a national non-profit organization based in Colorado whose mission is to educate the public about the relative harms of marijuana and alcohol. SAFER also encourages the public to question why our society punishes adults for making the rational, safer choice to use marijuana instead of alcohol. SAFER fulfills its mission through various efforts, including campus-based referenda, which generate substantial earned media coverage.
