Description
Child care is available for critical emergencies 25 hours a day, 365 days a year for up to 72 hours at a time. The mission of the crisis nursery is to prevent child abuse and neglect. Since opening in 1998, Safe Harbor has provided critical support for more than 2000 vulnerable, at-risk and over stressed families. During that time the incidents of documented child abuse and neglect have declined in both service counties (25% in Franklin, 12% in Benton) due to the intervention at Safe Harbor. Our case manager assesses for patterns contributing to family dysfunction and refers to community services, helping the family's problem-solving proficiency to prevent future crisis.
