Description


RWDS offers classes in ballet, tap, body percussion, folklore, African, modern, jazz, hip-hop, fitness, toning, and swing for both adults and young people. Currently we have approximately 300 students enrolled in this wide range of classes. We also provide scholarships to Harlem area youth who demonstrate a strong interest in the performing arts, and sponsor the Ruth Williams Performing Arts Workshop (PAW). Members of PAW put on performances throughout the City and in New Jersey.

We attract, cultivate, and sustain our students by providing high-caliber dance classes in a supportive and energetic environment. Many of our students are aspiring professional dancers and for many of them, the dance studio serves as the launching pad for careers in dance by keeping those students informed about upcoming auditions and helping them prepare for auditions.
