Description
The Ruth Lilly Health Education Center is dedicated to helping students understand that preventing future health problems begins with choices they make today. Programs are provided both on-site at our facility and off-site at area schools, community organizations, church groups, and many other youth-serving organizations to more than 100,000 persons annually. RLHEC also provides customized programs for groups such as the Scouts, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and YMCAs organizations. RLHEC's programs correspond to National Health Education Standards, Indiana Academic Standards for Health & Wellness, and Healthy People 2020. Many programs also correspond to Indiana Academic Standards for Science. RLHEC was a pioneer in introducing high-tech hands-on education in central Indiana, and since 1989 has used multimedia to enhance teaching methods. Through comprehensive health education, we enable students to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
