Description
The Rumbarger Cemetery Initiative provides for the long-term preservation and maintenance of the City's historic burial grounds. In line with the efforts of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, the initiative seeks to honor the heroic men and women who served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces. With the primary goal of protecting the cemetery's heritage, the initiative conducts research into local history and promotes the study of gravestones and genealogy. As a precious cultural resource and historical asset, the Rumbarger Cemetery serves as a focal point of the initiative's research and a symbol for the cultural legacy of the City of DuBois.
