Description
Room One provides services for victims of domestic violence as well as youth violence prevention programs, community outreach, a baby clothing exchange, and a winter clothing closet.
Room One programs consist of Classroom In Bloom (CIB)and Red Shed Produce. CIB created a garden at the local school and the school children work with the CIB staff in the garden to learn about food, where it comes from and to harvest the crops. A large portion of the food served in the local school cafeteria comes from the CIB garden.
Red Shed Produce provides organic produce to the local food bank and Room One clients. In 2007, Red Shed was responsible for providing fresh organic vegetables to 70
low-income families.
Room One also houses several local social service partners. Room One services include (but are not limited to) child birth classes, a mothering group, and a breast cancer support group.
