The Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor provides a "home away from home" for families of children experiencing a serious illness or injury requiring hospitalization or treatment on an outpatient basis.
The RMH of Ann Arbor accommodates 29 families per night whose children are hospitalized in Ann Arbor and who live at least an hour from Ann Arbor. At the House they may sleep, prepare meals in the communal kitchen, and find rest and relaxation away from the hospital. Volunteers staff the House from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM seven days a week. There is always (24 hours a day) at least one paid staff person on duty. A primary benefit for families staying at the House is the opportunity to find support from other families in similar circumstances.
