The Rochester Association of Performing Arts (RAPA) is Upstate New York’s oldest and most comprehensive school of performing arts, having served a five county area around Rochester since 1978. RAPA strives to provide professional training in dance, theater and music to individuals from ages 3 to seniors, who express an interest in learning skills for a career or for personal enjoyment. RAPA aspires to provide alternative, positive direction for at-risk youth, by channeling their time and energy toward an appreciation of the arts.
Our after-school programs have served over 15,000 children and young adult. What children seek is a purpose; what children need is an opportunity to succeed. As children feel successful, they will continue to strive academically and in their personal lives. Participation in after-school educational programs in the performing arts gives them the feeling of accomplishment and optimism about their future.
