Description
The River Road African American Museum is the premier facility in the South dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting art, artifacts and buildings related to the history and culture of African Americans in the rural communities along the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The museum is located in the historic district of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, approximately 65 miles northwest of New Orleans and 45 miles southeast of Baton Rouge.
