Description

501 c3 educational non profit bird club in San Antonio, Texas. Members believe in the importance of education and research to further better bird keeping for happier, healthier captive birds and their owners.

Each year River City Bird Club puts on an educational seminar for bird owners, breeders, vets, vet techs, and zoo personnel (open to all who wish to come). Avian professionals speak on various topics and workshops are held on the second day. Produced in conjunction with Texas A&M University's School of Veterinary Medicine and the Schubot Exotic Bird Research Center. Proceeds from the seminar go to fund scholarships for jr and sr veterinary school students who have an interest in pursuing avian medicine.

Seminars are held in the fall of each year - generally around October.
