Located in the inner city neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, the Richard J. Murphy School has 950 students from four year olds to Grade 8 students. Seventy-eight percent of the students participate in the federally-funded free and reduced price breakfast and lunch programs. Fifteen percent have disabilities that range from severe, such as students who have multiple physical handicaps, to relatively mild, such as students who are reading below grade level.
