Description
The mission of RAIN is to engage the community to transform lives and promote respect and dignity for all people touched by the AIDS crisis through compassionate care, education and leadership development. RAIN has worked within the faith community, since 1992, in the fight against AIDS, to provide compassionate care for persons with HIV/AIDS, and to offer HIV prevention education programs.
RAIN delivers direct services through CareTeams, groups of individuals from congregations or other caring groups who are trained by RAIN to provide essential assistance to persons living with HIV/AIDS. In addition, RAIN staff members provide pastoral services in community settings, individual's home and by telephone.
HIV/AIDS prevention education is provided to congregation and temple leaders, youth groups, meetings of adult groups and community groups.
