Description
The Rabbit Haven was formed to achieve the following goals:
• To provide emergency rescue, shelter, medical care, foster care, and spay/neuter services for abandoned or endangered rabbits.
• To place these animals into permanent, safe, loving, indoor homes.
• To educate the public about rabbits, specifically their care, feeding and grooming; their medical and social needs; and their behaviors.
The Rabbit Haven rescues injured and/or abandoned rabbits and accepts surrendered rabbits from the general public or the SPCA in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito, and Monterey counties. We work to place these rescued rabbits into loving permanent or foster homes. The Rabbit Haven works in the community, at schools, with our local SPCA shelter and other educational groups to educate the public on animal care, feeding, grooming, medical needs, social requirements, and behaviors. The Haven is 100% volunteer-based, and its funding is derived primarily from individual donations.
