Description
Quad Cities Interfaith (QCI) is a social justice organization working in eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. QCI organizes through congregations and faith based organizations to empower ordinary people to effectively participate in the social, economic, political decisions affecting their lives.
QCI is a community of people living out our faith and values to collectively transform our society and bring about justice and human dignity locally and regionally.
Congregation-based community organizing involves a three-prong strategy for creating strong congregations and strong communities:
Intentional and intensive relationship-building;
Developing and involving lay leadership;
Effectively impacting the public area.
Regardless of the specific issues addressed, the goal of QCI is to use the gifts of our people and the resources of our faith to rebuild community and shape a society that is more respectful of the life, dignity and rights of each person.
