Description
Public Spectacle is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that uses various forms of performance art to talk with community members about domestic violence. We use poetry, song, skits, plays and other interactive methods to engage the public in identifying behaviors that can constitute intimate partner violence. We stage situations that demonstrate potentially abusive behavior to create a context that challenges individuals to think about their role in ending violence against women. As we strive to create a climate of collective responsibility, we engage individuals in reflection of their own attitudes and beliefs about domestic violence.
