Description
The PJC is a non-profit legal organization that seeks to enforce and expand the rights of people who are denied justice because of poverty or discrimination. We use the full range of advocacy strategies including litigation, legislative, administrative, and policy advocacy, public education, and grassroots organization. Many organizations are devoted to a specific sub-population of the poor, such as homeless people. In contrast, the PJC responds to systemic injustice that cuts across such distinctions. While most legal services organizations exclusively provide direct service to individuals, we focus on class and group representation and work on projects that affect large numbers of individuals. Our projects often involve multi-year campaigns that combine layered strategies.
