P.A.W.S. (Public for Animal Welfare Society, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and shelter for animals, serving Hays and surrounding counties in central Texas. We are a no-kill Shelter; and our staff work hard to ensure that every animal we receive becomes part of a loving family. PAWS' mission is to care for, protect and find quality homes for abandoned and neglected animals; to aid in the reduction of pet overpopulation; and to provide community education for the mutual benefit of animals and people.PAWS envisions a time when our community celebrates the human-animal bond, the overpopulation problem is solved, permanent homes for animals are insured, and all animal suffering ends.
