Providence Hospital is a Catholic community hospital in Washington DC founded by the Daughters of Charity 1861 and is the oldest continuously operating hospital in the nation’s capital. The Providence has consistently maintained a simple, yet intensely challenging mission: to provide for the health care needs of the most vulnerable members of society with joy, care and respect. Last year Providence Hospital provided $19.2 million in charity care.
