Description
Project Sunshine of Nevada is dedicated to providing educational and recreational programs to better the lives of the children living in Clark County’s Child Welfare system. Our continuum of care services range from typical outdoor camping experiences where the children get to “just be kids” to educational and preparation programs in which youth aging out of the Child Welfare system are taught the basic everyday life skills that are essential for them to thrive in our complex world.
Our programs promote positive peer interaction and foster trusting relationships with adults. We offer supervised environments in which children and young adults can feel safe and loved; an environment where self-esteem easily builds and their confidence grows. Through this experience, they learn that their circumstances do not define who they are, they are just a part of who they are, and with that understanding, and a great deal of guidance, support ….and love, their quality of life can improve.
