Description
The Preuss School is a public charter school, grades 6-12, that serves hard-working, economically disadvantaged, highly motivated, first-generation-college-bound students from 41 different zip codes in San Diego. Of last year's graduating class of ~100, 96% were accepted to 4 year colleges; there were 5 Gates Millennium Scholars and three Questbridge Scholars. Owing to transportation costs and a school year 18 days longer than standard, there is a gap of $3,000 per student per year over what state and federal funding provides. Ranked #2 charter and #8 (US News) #6 (Newsweek) high school in the US.
