Description

Mission
To reduce the number of homeless, abused, abandomed, and otherwise unwanted pets in Kanawha County and the surrounding areas by placing exsisting animals into homes and spay/neutering as well as education pet owners to decrease the pet overpopulation problem.
Vision
Precious Paws Animal Rescue works through foster homes to place unwanted animals in Kanawha County and surrounding areas. All animals have been spay/neutered, have current shots, and cats have had a combo test, dogs a heart worm test. Animals at PPAR have also been flea treated and wormed (if needed) and treated for any other known medical illness. We strive to make sure all animals under our care find a home that is a good fit for both the animal and the owner. We provide education to pet owners and the community about how to care for animals and other animal related concerns. We offer rescue services to a wide variety of animals, offer rehabilitation and training to animals, and assess behavior issues to ensure the safety of both animal and potentional adopters. We hope to eventually have a facility, offer a low cost spay/neuter program, and a TNR program (trap, neuter, release) to decrease the number of unadoptable cats living on the streets.
