Description
PowerNet Of Dayton is a grassroots, community-based, not-for-profit organization founded in June of 2002 to empower poor inner-city communities to define and enhance their quality of life. Our existence, operations, strategy development and implementation along with our goals and objectives are all based on a core set of values. These core set of values relate to: 1) the importance of collaboration, 2) identifying and developing leadership among the grassroots community, 3) the value of targeting issues of greatest concern to the community, 4) the utilization of best practices; and 5) the positive effects of building meaningful relationships. After community organizing, grassroots research and building relationships with community groups, PowerNet came to the very clear and definitive conclusion that a comprehensive ex-offender reentry initiative is the best strategy for addressing the greatest challenges which limit the quality of life within inner-city communities.
