Power Up Gambia is a Philadelphia-based non-profit dedicated to improving health in the Gambia by developing reliable and sustainable solar-powered electricity at health care facilities. We have completed solar electricity systems at two hospitals and a large health clinic in The Gambia, and we are now working on developing a solar engineering course at a local university to train Gambians how to build and maintain the solar energy systems while designing transportable solar applications for small rural clinics.. Well-maintained solar electricity at health care facilities save patients' lives.
