Description
The Postal History Foundation is dedicated to preserving and promoting an appreciation of postal history,philatelic education and research. It serves as a repository for historical documents and photographs, literature and unique philatelic materials. Its successful Youth Education Program uses postage stamps as a tangible learning tool in classrooms and youth groups. Volunteers give classroom instruction in social studies, history, science, literature and the arts. All services and materials to youth and educators are offered at no charge.
The Foundation also offers a free western postal history museum, a philatelic research library, special exhibits , workshops and philatelic materials for collectors. It is one of a few multi-purpose philatelic institutions in the U.S., is self-supporting and staffed primarily by dedicated volunteers who conduct the educational and archival functions.
