Description
PortSide NewYork's mission is to show NYC better ways to use the BlueSpace, or water part of the waterfront, and to help revitalize our home neighborhood of Red Hook, Brooklyn while doing that.
PortSide uses a historic ship, the coastal oil tanker Mary A. Whalen, as our office, mobile cultural platform, and teaching tool.
PortSide manifests a new vision for how to revitalize New York City’s waterfront and create waterside public spaces without displacing the maritime functions essential to the city’s transportation infrastructure.
