Description
Playing For Others (PFO), provides a unique opportunity for Charlotte area teens to utilize their creative talents to make a difference in the community. The program partners yearly with different non-profit organizations that serve children with special needs. Through a nine month volunteer program, teens learn the importance of community involvement while raising funds for the partnered non-profit organization. Their are currently 60 teens and 19 adults volenteers helping out with this non-profit orginization. We Work directly with the children served by the partnered non-profit organization, learn real-world skills through participation in committee work ( e.g. publicity, advertising), help produce a theatrical production where ticket proceeds directly benefit the partnered non-profit organization, and learn the fundamentals of fund raising while actively raising money for the partnered non-profit organization.
