Planting Magic Beans works with adolescents from peripheral areas of Lima, Peru and envisions a society where all adolescents can build the future they desire. We develop and implement mini-projects for personal development and skill-building workshops and provide cultural outings and an educational fund in order to promote the cognitive, psychological and social development of adolescents and to facilitate their achievement of future life opportunities. Based on a firm belief in the potential of each individual, we seek to strengthen adolescents’ critical thinking skills, self-esteem, sense of personal responsibility, creativity and a passion for life-long learning through activities that empower participants and achieve real, substantial change in their life plans.
