Description
Pisgah Legal Services provides free civil legal assistance to very low-income people in western North Carolina to help them meet basic needs such as for housing, health care, income, and safety from domestic violence. This community-based legal aid program serves more than 9,000 people per year using seventeen staff attorneys and more than 250 volunteer attorneys. PLS is funded with individual contributions, state funding, and grants from United Ways, foundations and competitive federal sources.
