Description
HEART works to prevent the extinction of the Kemp's ridley sea turtle through education in schools and other avenues. We are a standing committee of the Piney Woods Wildlife Society, a 501c3 non-profit organization in Harris County, Texas and have been active in sea turtle conservation work since 1982.
Funds go for educational programs and rehabilitation of sick and injured sea turtles at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute and sea turtles at the National Marine Fisheries Service. in Galveston that are cared for by Dr. Joe Flanagan of the Houston Zoological Society.
