Description
The Pilot International Foundation was established in 1975 to support the community-based work of Pilot Clubs by promoting the awareness and prevention of brain-related disorders, and improving the lives of those affected by such disorders, through education, volunteerism, financial support and research.
Pilot International Foundation's signature project BrainMinders(TM) works with communities, usually in schools and daycares, to teach children to protect their brains. This prevention education program has been presented to over 336,000 children as of June 2005. Also as of this date, there have been over 526,000 books distributed to Pilot Clubs. Pilot International’s focus on brain-related disorders is implemented through the Foundation, which provides fund-raising and financial support, and disburses grants to support community-based club and district projects.
