The purpose of The Pilot Club of Huntsville Foundation is to promote and assist with Project Lifesaver, partnering with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department throughout Madison County. The Project Lifesaver wristband transmitters are provided at no cost to people with Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, Down syndrome. People who are part of the Project Lifesaver program wear a personalized bracelet that emits a tracking signal. Searches for lost persons have been reduced from several hours to less than 30 minutes average. The Project Lifesaver program aids and protects persons with afflictions who wander, while reducing the community costs of search and rescue efforts.
