Description
The Pi Foundation directly addresses the social and economic inequities that place women at risk for HIV by offering a novel social entrepreneurial solution to prevention. Specifically, the Pi Foundation provides female sex workers in Southern India with HIV prevention education in conjunction with entrepreneurial skills and extensive tailoring training - to offer financial options and greater ownership over their earning structure. An evaluation conducted by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that our program significantly reduces HIV risk factors among the participating women, highlighting resiliency and ultimately saving lives.
