Description
The Main Street Program is a national comprehensive approach to downtown revitalization. The program is operated in Philipsburg by the Philipsburg Revitalization Corporation or PRC. The PRC has about 35 volunteers. The Main Street Approach looks at downtown revitalization through the eyes of four standing committees: Organization, Design, Economic Restructuring, and Promotion. The Main Street Program is administered nationally by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Downtown Center. Since the beginning of our program our downtown has seen a net gain of 59 businesses and 78 full time equivalent jobs. In addition, we have seen over $3,000,000 in public and private investment.
