Description

Philadelphia Sculptors was established in 1996 to promote contemporary sculpture and serve as an advocate for sculptors. We are interested in establishing more visibility and opportunities for Philadelphia area sculptors and in expanding public awareness of the role and value of sculpture within our culture through exhibitions, public forums, member services, and educational outreach. Since our inception, we have organized over 60 indoor and outdoor juried and non-juried group shows at both traditional and non-traditional venues. We have sponsored annual programs open to the public every year since 1996, a major sculpture conference in 2002, three collaborative interdisciplinary performance projects and many workshops and demonstrations. We are committed to initiating exhibitions that offer opportunities to artists while presenting the public with the best in contemporary sculpture.
