Philadelphia Lutheran Ministries (PLM) is “A Midwife to LCMS Missions in the Philadelphia Region.” PLM comes alongside missionaries, missions, congregations and pastors alike, and helps give birth to the Lord’s Church in this place. PLM supports existing ministries, supports the development of lay leadership, assists in theological training for potential and existing ethnic ministers, and actively looks to identify and evaluate potential opportunities for new ministries. PLM will be influential in creating a “church planting movement” in this area as it works with congregations, pastors and other leaders. PLM seeks to be in partnership with LCMS World Mission at the national level to continue the “global outreach” of the LCMS locally to the diverse populations that are in Philadelphia--the 5th largest city in the USA. PLM is committed to helping share the Gospel with unreached or uncommitted people in the United States as part of the Ablaze goals to reach 50 million people.
