Description
The Philadelphia Children's Alliance acts to effect justice and healing for sexually abused children in Philadelphia through a coordinated, professional multidisciplinary approach. When a case of child sexual abuse is reported in Philadelphia, the Children's Alliance is contacted to coordinate a sensitive and caring child forensic interview at its facility, and police, cps, district attorneys, social workers, and of course the caregiver and child come there to minimize number of interviews and retraumatization to the child. Victim support services are an integrated part of the process and include counseling, support groups, court accompaniment, and referrals for many other services. The type of organization is also referred to as a child advocacy center.
