People For Puget Sound is a member-supported nonprofit organization that works to protect and restore Puget Sound, focusing on marine water quality, shoreline habitat, and species protection.
Three offices and 25 staff serve 12 counties from Olympia to Bellingham.
We helped create our Governor’s Puget Sound Partnership, to which our Executive Director was appointed.
We helped pass legislation creating an independent Oil Spill Advisory Council to improve oil spill prevention and response.
We won septic system regulations and state funding for Hood Canal improvement.
We've formed a new Alliance for Puget Sound Shoreline with The Nature Conservancy and Trust for Public Land and will work to restore and protect hundreds of miles of shoreline and create 10 new parks and natural areas along Puget Sound over the next three years.
